Showcase Your Solar Project

Contribute a Project of the Month article on the Solar Washington website. Get on the schedule by submitting an abstract to potm@solarwa.org for consideration. Full articles are expected to be a page or two of text and a couple of good images, due 2 weeks before the 1st of your assigned month. You can view previous articles at http://solarwa.org/potms. Any type of project will be considered including residential, commercial, utility or community solar. Qualified articles will include equipment descriptions, system size and performance, permitting issues, financing, construction methods, contractors involved, obstacles overcome, community involvement, customer satisfaction and the story behind the project - how did it get off the ground, who and what made it happen. Login access to a preview website will be provided if you want to post the content yourself or you can submit doc and image files and we'll post it for your review and acceptance.

November - Poulsbo Middle School Community Solar Project

The state’s first full size, 75-kW community solar project has been completed on Poulsbo Middle School. Coming on line last March, the project was installed at no cost to the school. Instead, a group of community members financed the installation and are now eligible for up to $5,000 a year in incentive payments.

Project of the Month - Woodland Park Zoo Carousel

The historic carousel at the Woodland Park Zoo was recently given a high-tech, eco-friendly makeover - solar panels now power the popular attraction as part of Seattle City Light’s solar-panel demonstration project.

Project of the Month - The Sextro Residence

Ann and Bob Sextro pose with their new 4.08 kW Silicon Energy array and Nissan Leaf in front of their home in Sequim, WA. The result of integrating the array with a new standing seam metal roof is a very sleek profile with no roof penetrations.
